Mittens

27 02 2009

Mittens are not only easier to make than gloves, they are more fun.  They are practically a hand puppet already, so why not have some fun with them?

Piggy gloves!  Infinitely distracting with their little piggy faces!  I would have probably missed the bus if I had these as a child

Gator gloves make me smile, I can also imagine that if the boy at my childhood bus stop had these I would have been mauled while I was distracted by my piggy gloves.  Good thing we had normal gloves :)

In case you didn’t just want gator claws, you could have these mittens and actually eat people with your hands!

Perhaps you are a Jaws fan and you’d rather eat things with your hands if your hands could be sharks

These are just cute.  I imagine you could make the tails in to “idiot strings” so kids don’t loose the mittens.  adorable.

I have a feeling my husband will be demanding these.  Zoidberg!

I bet I could modify the Cthulhu mask too……

Space Invaders and Space Invader Accessories

25 02 2009

After seeing all the Pac Man household goods I’ve found more retro game housewares!

This cutting board is currently out of stock at thinkgeek, but it’s still pretty neat

This shirt from Threadless teaches you the basics of being a space invader

I would like to think that when my Dear Husband and I have kids, this is what will adorn the walls of their rooms.  They also have Nintendo wall clings

Ice cube fun!!  The website says they are safe for oven use as well, think of all the wondrous baked goods that could be made!

The little Space Invader comes on when the alarm goes off and does his standard “Down, Reverse Direction, Speed up!” routine!

Knit Food Dresses

19 02 2009

I’m not sure I need to preface this with anything, except that it’s awesome

Hamburgerler look out!

Makes me wish it was summer….

Mint chocolate chip is my favorite kind of ice cream, not sure I want to wear it though

A girl needs the right accessory to go with her food dress

Joy Kampia O’Shell is the artist behind all of these neat food knits.  Check out her fiber sculpture as well, knit food never looked so good!

Catvertizing?!

17 02 2009

My Husband has found a way to have our Cats bring home some money, the slackers….

Apparently Warner Bros is putting advertising for the game F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin on a bunch of black cats and setting them loose in London on the day of the launch.

I have TWO black cats who are simply mooching off of us right now, they could be earning a living!  Warner Bros also claims their advertising cats are trained, which makes me laugh (and completely excludes Smeagol from this employment since his only trick is that he licks your nose if he wants you to put him down).

If my cats were part of the catvertizing, do you think I’d get an early copy of the game? hmmmm…..

Pac Man and Pac Man Accesories

16 02 2009

Pac Man is one of those great iconic games.  Instantly recognizable, fun to play, in every arcade worth it’s salt, and now it’s home decor!

The iBoo, an iPod Doc that looks like a Pac Man Ghost!  These are super cute, I kinda’ want one but at $90, I think I can wait until a birthday or something

These Ghost Lamps are also awesome, I would also like to purchase these but I can’t seem to find a place that sells them.  This makes me sad.

This Pac Man scilicone hot mit is amazing.  The inside of his mouth is the game board!! Waka Waka Waka

Yay New Blog!

13 02 2009

Howdy all!

Thanks to Cassie at The Mario Scarf Blog I now have my own domain and blog to do what I wish with :)

I plan on continuing to be geeky and crafty here and at The Mario Scarf Blog.  This space will be a little more open ended geekieness  and less crafty geekieness (not to say there wont be crafty geekieness, because there will be).  I’ll probably talk more about myself, my husband, cats, godson, and friends here but I’ll try to keep mostly on topic

Also, I’m still getting used to Word Press’s new look/update, it’s very interesting and I think I’ll have fun with it once I figure out where everything is and what it does.  You will all get to be my guinea pigs, MWAAHAHAHAHAAH!
